Forensic authorizations: who can use the forensic reads

Important: The forensic reads and the forensic case file can only be used with a current authorization. Only the Hub grants it, after reviewing your documents. None of this reads or stores PINs, keys or module secrets, and it does not write to the vehicle.

1. Press “Ask for an authorization” and choose the type: forensic expert, SERMI operator, law enforcement agent or the institution (security force).
2. Fill in the details asked for. For SERMI a full form opens: your company, the body that approved it, the insurance, the people with their digital certificate (only the public fingerprint: never a private key, the PIN or the activation code), the brands you are registered with and what you want to be able to do.
3. Attach the documents that back you (PDF, PNG or JPEG up to 3 MB, up to 12). They are stored encrypted and only the Hub reviews them. For SERMI each document has its role and the approval certificate, the authorization certificate, the insurance policy and the signed declaration are required.
4. Press “Send to the Hub”. You will get the decision when it is reviewed; if it is denied, you will see the reason and can ask again.
5. Before it expires, press “Renew”: it starts from your earlier details but needs new documents.

• An authorization lasts one year at most. A SERMI one never goes beyond your SERMI validity.
• The Hub can withdraw it at any time and it stops applying at once.
• A law enforcement agent only works if the institution of their organization is verified by the Hub (official document and institutional contact), and it only allows reading.
• A SERMI operator's security functions always go through the manufacturer's official channel: the platform only mediates and records the delivery without keeping its content.
• For SERMI the Hub checks your details with the issuer (the body and the trust center), records those verifications and grants by area, vehicle category and brand, never more than you ask for.
• If the trust center, the body or the manufacturer suspends or revokes your certificate, the Hub records it and your SERMI authorization stops applying at once.
• Every use goes into the usage log: who, when, tool, vehicle (only a fingerprint of the chassis number), module, procedure and legal basis. It cannot be changed or erased.

Important: The authorization does not replace the case file's legal basis or the permissions you already have: it is one more condition.

Important: The platform does not replace the body or the trust center: it does not check your certificate on its own, it only keeps what you declare and what the Hub has verified.
