Each setting has a “?” next to it with this same summary. If you do not know what to choose, keep the recommended value.

1. Read vehicle

SettingRecommended and risk
Unit connected to the vehicleThe one that is plugged in. If it is missing, check “Tools”.
Kind of readFull read. The quick one is shorter and may not include every control unit. Neither changes anything.
Kind of vehicleDetect automatically. Choose it yourself only if detection fails.
ProtocolAutomatic (recommended). With the wrong one no control unit shows up.
CANopen diagnostics for machineryOnly for CANopen machinery and with the manufacturer's data. It only reads.
Clear fault codes after readingUnchecked. Clear them after the repair and with the customer's permission; it asks for confirmation and your second factor.

2. OBD profiles of a unit

SettingRecommended and risk
PurposeThe real use of the data: workshop or fleet. It decides the use and retention rules.
Live values and fault codesOnly what you need: less data and less load on the vehicle.
How oftenA few seconds for normal monitoring.
ForThe minimum you need; when it ends, the unit stops reading by itself.
Countries where it may readTwo-letter codes in capitals, for example ES.

3. Live dashboard

SettingRecommended and risk
Reading rateA middle value; fast ones only for data that changes quickly.
Share with the workshopUnchecked while you try it; check it so your organization can use it.
Data, type, minimum, maximum and warningsSet warnings only on the values you want to watch.
Maximum durationWhat you need: the session closes by itself when it is reached.

4. Service functions, procedures and advanced reads

SettingRecommended and risk
ChannelPublished. The other channels are test versions.
Vehicle and ECUExact data from the sheet or a read; if they do not match, the procedure does not run.
Beta on this unitOff, unless support asks you to.
Channel read: what to doRead only. “Read and write” changes values in the control unit.
CAN captures: bus and advanced optionsAutomatic speed and default values.
Programming: image, charger and days of validityThe control unit's exact image, a stable charger connected and just the days you need.

Important: Options that write to the vehicle (clearing codes, read and write, programming) ask for confirmation. If in doubt, stop and ask for help.
