Pass-thru interface: SAE J2534, D-PDU and RP1210
A pass-thru interface connects a PC to the vehicle's diagnostic socket so that the manufacturer's or a third party's software can talk to the ECUs. SAE J2534, the ISO 22900-2 D-PDU API and TMC RP1210 are the three standard programming interfaces those programs use.

Data from the device catalog and the standards cited. The devices are in pre-production: figures may be adjusted after the first units have been validated.
Pre-production: tested on a simulator; validation with vehicles under way. Whether it works with a given program depends on that program: ask us before you buy.
When you need it
- Reprogramming an ECU with the vehicle manufacturer's software
- Using PC diagnostic software that asks for a J2534 or D-PDU interface
- Diagnosing trucks with software that asks for RP1210
Which Diaglana device covers it, and its limits
- ECO-LITE TOOL
- SAE J2534-1 (API 05.00) and J2534-2, D-PDU API and TMC RP1210, over USB or the network, only with a PC paired using the device's button and over an encrypted connection. 32- and 64-bit Windows; J2534 and D-PDU libraries for Linux and macOS.
- ECO-LITE
- Basic pass-thru mode over the workshop's Wi-Fi: your PC uses it as an SAE J2534 interface (API 05.00), with 2 logical channels.
- ECOPRO Gen4
- Pass-thru in development.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between J2534, D-PDU and RP1210?
They're three programming interfaces for the same job: J2534 is used mainly by car manufacturers' software, D-PDU (ISO 22900-2) by modular diagnostic systems and RP1210 by heavy-vehicle software.
Will it work with my make's software?
That depends on the software: each one has its own requirements and licenses. Pass-thru mode has been tested on a simulator and validation on vehicles is under way; ask us before you buy.
Do I need ECO-LITE TOOL for pass-thru?
For the full interface (J2534, D-PDU and RP1210, over USB or the network), yes. ECO-LITE offers a basic J2534 mode over the workshop's Wi-Fi.
Is it safe to connect my PC?
Only a PC paired using the device's button can use it, and the connection is encrypted.
