Remote ECU programming with your own tool
Remote ECU programming means coding, adapting or flashing an ECU's software from a workshop that isn't next to the car. With Diaglana, ECO-LITE stays in the vehicle and ECO-LITE TOOL reproduces its OBD socket on your desk, so your tool works just as it always does.

Data from the device catalog and the standards cited. The devices are in pre-production: figures may be adjusted after the first units have been validated.
Pre-production: tested on a simulator; validation with vehicles under way. Whether it works with a given program depends on that program: ask us before you buy.
When you need it
- Coding or an adaptation after a part has been replaced at another workshop
- A manufacturer software update when the car is far away
- A remote expert has to work with the tool from their own workshop
Which Diaglana device covers it, and its limits
- ECO-LITE
- In the car: CAN and CAN FD, DoIP, K-Line and SW-CAN, with 32 MB of memory for working with ECU files.
- ECO-LITE TOOL
- On your desk: a standard female OBD socket and the car's voltage on pin 16, from 5 to 24 V and up to 3 A. It's powered by a 65 W USB-C charger (100 W for 24 V), which isn't included.
- Limits
- Your tool still needs its licenses and manufacturer access. Speed depends on the connection at both ends. Pre-production: remote sessions will open once the remote connection service is in production.
Questions from professionals about this
Can you program an ECU remotely, and what are the risks?
Yes, it can be done with your tool and the remote kit. The risks are the connection and the battery: what to check before a remote flash and what cannot be done remotely.
Which diagnostic tool can I use remotely with ECO-LITE TOOL?
Tools with an OBD connector, J2534, D-PDU and RP1210 programs and OEM software: what you can use remotely with ECO-LITE TOOL and what depends on each one.
What connection does remote diagnostics need?
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi in the car, outbound ports 443 and 123, networks that don't work and what connection both ends need to program an ECU remotely.
For repair shops and professionals: frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Does any tool work?
ECO-LITE TOOL offers a standard female OBD socket (SAE J1962) that behaves like the remote car's. Final compatibility depends on each tool and its configuration.
What if the connection drops during remote flashing?
That's the main risk of programming remotely. Before you start, check the connection at both ends and make sure the car's battery is charged or on a maintainer.
Do I need both devices?
Yes: ECO-LITE in the car and ECO-LITE TOOL on your desk. They're sold together as the remote kit.
Can I program from my PC without a tool?
Yes, if your software uses a pass-thru interface: ECO-LITE TOOL offers J2534, D-PDU and RP1210 to the PC.
