Compatibility notices for your tool
What “This function needs another tool” means and what you can do.

Where: Remote sessions › Diagnosis › Service functions and Read vehicle
Before launching a procedure, a read or a scan, the platform compares what the operation needs (and the vehicle, if you entered it) with what your device has. If something is missing, a notice appears next to the form. The notice blocks nothing: you can carry on.
- Read which capability is missing, for example “CAN FD channels: 3 needed, it has 2”.
- See which tool in the catalog has it. If there are several, the first one is the closest and cheapest.
- Press “See …” to open its page on the public website, “Buy it” if it is in the shop, or “Ask a workshop with … for help” to find an expert who has it.
- To keep it for later, press “Send me the link”. If you would rather hear from the sales team, press “Please contact me”.
- “To be confirmed” means nobody has documented that value of the device yet: the function is not treated as unsupported.
- “Depending on the vehicle, you may also need…” appears when a make or type of vehicle usually needs something more and it is still to be confirmed.
- If the device refuses a procedure because it lacks that bus (for example J1850 on an ECO-LITE), the result shows the same notice.
- “Send me the link” only works if you have accepted commercial messages; otherwise you only see the notice on screen.
- “Please contact me” creates your contact record with your account's email address, and nothing else.
Tip: The “Is it compatible?” page on the public website shows the same without signing in.
