Diaglana PassThru updates
How your computer tells you about a new version, what happens when the update is required and how the Diaglana team decides it.

Where: On the computer, when you open the Diaglana PassThru app or use the unit; on the platform, “Authorized PCs” of each unit; in the Hub, Devices › “PassThru updates”
Each time you open the app or use the unit, the computer checks the list of versions published by Diaglana. The list is signed: the computer checks the signature before trusting it and sends no data about your workshop. Without internet nothing new is blocked.
1. What you see in each case
| Case | What you see and what you can do |
|---|---|
| Update offered | A notice “A new version is available” with “Update” and “Later”. You can keep working; “Later” postpones it for 3 days and you never get more than one notice a day for the same version. |
| Update required or version below the minimum | PassThru doesn't open the unit and you see “This version of Diaglana PassThru is no longer allowed: update it from the platform”. You can only update. |
| No internet | The last list the computer saved still applies. Nothing it didn't already know about is blocked. |
2. Updating
- Press “Update” in the notice.
- The computer downloads the package for your system and checks the list's signature and the package's SHA-256. If anything doesn't match, it installs nothing.
- Confirm the administrator permission (Windows and Mac ask for it; on Linux it shows you the command if needed) and wait until it finishes.
3. On the platform and in the Hub
- In “Authorized PCs” of each unit you see each PC's version and the notices “Out of date” (a newer version exists) or “Below the minimum” (that PC can't use the unit until it updates).
- The Diaglana team sees how many PCs are on each version and decides whether the update is offered or required, with a reason and two-step verification.
- The decision doesn't reach the computers until the version list is signed and published: the console shows it as “Waiting to be published” until then.
Tip: A required update is kept for security or compatibility issues. If it affects you, the update takes a few minutes and keeps your settings and the PC's authorization.
Important: Never install a package that reaches you some other way: the computer only installs the ones that match the list signed by Diaglana.
