Getting started with remote work

How do you run a remote diagnosis for a customer?

The customer asks for help from their account or the shop opens a session with their vehicle; ECO-LITE beeps and flashes blue and the driver authorizes it with a short press of the button. With the session open, the shop reads trouble codes and live data on the platform or works with its own tool, and closes it when done: who, when and with which device is logged.

What do you do before the first session?

Register the device in your account with the “Add to account” QR code on the label or its 16-character code, and hand it over to the customer from “Customer hand-overs”. The customer accepts it in their account, plugs it into the OBD port and connects it to their Wi-Fi with the “Wi-Fi” QR code: in about 90 seconds the light breathes green.

From then on the device is in the customer's account: your shop keeps supporting it, but it needs their permission in every session to read the vehicle's data.

How is the session opened and authorized?

The customer asks for help from the app or the web (Remote assistance › Ask for help) and describes what is wrong with the car, or your shop starts the session with the customer's vehicle. The device flashes blue and beeps: a short press authorizes, a long press declines. While the session is active, the light stays solid blue.

If the job will write to or reprogram ECUs, the customer first sees which channels will open, with which tool and for how long, and accepts with their second factor. They can withdraw consent at any time.

What can you do during the session?

Read and clear trouble codes from every ECU that answers, watch live data and record a log during a road test, identify the ECUs, the VIN and the mileage each one stores, check the battery and run service functions reviewed and signed by Diaglana.

With ECO-LITE TOOL on your desk you plug in your usual tool, and during the session you coordinate with the customer or an expert through messages and photos. If the internet drops, the device keeps the session state for at least 10 minutes so it can reconnect without resetting the ECU.

How do you close the job?

Close the session on the platform. Every reading stays in the vehicle's history, and you can attach its codes to a work order, send an estimate from the request and issue a signed report with a QR code the customer can verify.

If the car does have to come in, you already know which part to order or which test to run before it arrives.

The devices are in pre-production or presale: figures may be adjusted after validating the first units. Whether a given tool, program or make works depends on that tool, program or make.

The devices to do it

To start, all you need is ECO-LITE in the car of each customer you want to serve remotely: the platform does the reading, the live data and the report.

ECO-LITE · Presale price: €129 · US$129. No subscription.

Presale: no stock and no delivery date yet. Reserve your unit in the shop.

Frequently asked questions

What if the customer doesn't press the button?

The session waits. Ask them to check whether the device is flashing blue; a long press declines it, and without a press nothing happens.

Can the customer end the session?

Yes. They can withdraw consent from their account at any time and the tunnel closes within seconds.

Can someone else watch the session?

Up to 3 observers per session, read-only and with the shop's permission. They cannot send anything to the car.
