Customers, consent and billing
How do driver consent and the GDPR work in remote diagnostics?
Every remote session is authorized by the person next to the vehicle, who presses the button on ECO-LITE; without that press the shop cannot get in. Every access is logged (who, when, with which device and what for) and the driver sees it in their privacy center, where they can download their data or ask for it to be deleted.

Who gives consent, and how?
The driver, with the device's button: a short press authorizes and a long press declines. If the job will write or reprogram, they also see beforehand which channels will open, with which tool, for how long, whether writing is allowed, that every frame is recorded for 5 years and how many people will observe, and they accept with their second factor.
Their answer is stored with the date, their identity and the version of the texts they read, and they can withdraw consent at any time: the tunnel closes within seconds.
What is logged, and who sees what?
Who accessed it, when, with which device and what for. The driver sees it in their privacy center; the shop, in its sessions. Up to 3 observers can watch a session, read-only and with the shop's permission.
On the vehicle record, the platform keeps an encrypted fingerprint of the VIN and the vehicle type, not the number in clear text. ECO-LITE units have no GPS and no modem: they do not send a location.
What does the shop or the fleet have to do?
Explain to the customer what the device will be used for and how they authorize sessions. If your employees drive the vehicles, tell them about the device and include it in your privacy policy.
This page explains how the platform works and is not legal advice: if you have questions about your case, check with your legal advisor or your data protection officer.
Can the customer take or delete their data?
Yes. From their account they download their data or ask for it to be deleted, and they can change shops. Data is processed under the GDPR.
The privacy policy explains what is kept because the law requires it, and for how long.
The devices are in pre-production or presale: figures may be adjusted after validating the first units. Whether a given tool, program or make works depends on that tool, program or make.
The devices to do it
ECO-LITE puts consent in the car: a light and a beep when the shop asks for access, and a button to authorize or decline. Its identity is protected in hardware.
ECO-LITE · Presale price: €129 · US$129. No subscription.
Presale: no stock and no delivery date yet. Reserve your unit in the shop.
Frequently asked questions
Can the shop get in without permission?
No. Every remote session requires pressing the device's button, and it is logged.
Can the vehicle be located?
Not with ECO-LITE: it has no GPS and no cellular modem, so it sends no location.
How long are a session's frames kept?
When a session opens the tunnel to the vehicle, every frame is recorded for 5 years; the customer sees this before accepting.
