Fleets and dealers
What data from a company vehicle can the fleet manager see, and what not?
In Diaglana, a fleet organization sees its vehicles and devices, requests assistance from its shop and views the diagnostic data of its vehicles that it is authorized to see. It does not see the location of vehicles with an ECO-LITE, because it has no GPS or modem, and no remote session starts unless someone next to the vehicle presses the device's button.

What does the fleet see?
The vehicle list with each vehicle's record, identified by its VIN; the devices, their status and their transfers; assistance requests and sessions with its shop; and the diagnostic scans of its vehicles, with codes, data and each vehicle's history.
In the vehicle record, the platform keeps an encrypted fingerprint of the VIN and the vehicle type, not the number in clear. Only the platform's global administration sees the full VIN, with approval from another person.
What does it not see?
Location: ECO-LITE devices have no GPS or cellular modem and do not send a position. Location only exists on devices with GPS, with its own permissions and current consent.
Nor can it read a vehicle behind the driver's back: every remote session starts when someone next to the vehicle presses the device's button, and it is logged.
What gets logged?
Who accessed, when, with which device and for what purpose. Telemetry for a vehicle or the fleet also requires two-factor authentication, approval from another person and current consent.
If the data subject withdraws a permission, it stops being used right away.
What should the company tell its drivers?
Tell drivers that the vehicle carries a diagnostic device, what it is used for and how each session is authorized, and include it in the privacy notice or the information given to staff.
This page explains how the platform works and is not legal advice: for your specific case, check with your legal advisor or data protection officer.
The devices are in pre-production or presale: figures may be adjusted after validating the first units. Whether a given tool, program or make works depends on that tool, program or make.

The devices to do it
The ECO-LITE is a diagnostic device, not a tracker: it has no GPS or cellular data, connects over Wi-Fi to known networks and asks for permission with a light, a beep and a button before every session.
ECO-LITE · Presale price: €129 · US$129. No subscription.
Presale: no stock and no delivery date yet. Reserve your unit in the shop.
Frequently asked questions
Can the company tell where the vehicle is with the ECO-LITE?
No: it has no GPS or modem, so it sends no location.
Can the manager read the car without the driver knowing?
Not with a remote session: it only starts when someone next to the vehicle presses the device's button, and it is logged.
Does the manager see the full VIN?
No: the platform keeps an encrypted fingerprint of the VIN. Only the platform's global administration sees the full number, with approval from another person.
