ECO-LITE and ECO-LITE TOOL units come in two board revisions, A and B. The unit detects its own at start-up and sends it to the platform: you see it as “Board revision” next to its firmware. If it does not appear, the unit does not have the software version that sends it yet.
| Revision | What changes for you |
|---|---|
| Revision A | Reads over CAN, DoIP and most K-line starts. To protect its electronics it does not use the L line and does not make some old 5-baud starts, common on cars older than 2008 (for example, certain VAG control units). Between consecutive starts it waits a few seconds. |
| Revision B | Supports every K-line start and the L line, with no waiting between starts. |
1. If a read cannot make a K-line start
- The report shows the notice “This unit's board (revision A) cannot perform some K-line starts…”. It is not a fault of the vehicle.
- Repeat the read with another protocol in “Read vehicle” or leave “Automatic (recommended)”.
- If that vehicle needs it, read it with a revision B unit.
- If it happens often, open a request in Support with the unit's identifier.
Tip: You don't need to set anything up: the unit only uses what its board supports and never forces the vehicle's line.
