Adding a unit over Bluetooth from the app
Connect your ECO-LITE or ECO-LITE TOOL to your Wi-Fi and add it to your account in one go, without joining the unit's network.

With the unit beside you, the Diaglana app connects it to Wi-Fi and adds it to your account without your phone changing network. Every screen has the "?" help.
1. What you need
- An Android 12 or later phone, or an iPhone with iOS 15 or later, with Bluetooth turned on.
- On Android, the "Nearby devices" permission: the app never asks for your location. On iPhone, the Bluetooth permission.
- The setup code on the label and, to add the unit to your account, its activation code.
- On Android 8 to 11 the app asks you to use the unit's Wi-Fi network: hold the button for 6 seconds and follow the guide "Setting up ECO-LITE".
2. Open pairing on the unit
- Plug in the unit and press its button once, for less than 1 second.
- The light blinks purple (once per second) for 5 minutes. Each step you complete extends the time, up to 15 minutes at most.
Straight out of the box, or with no saved network, the unit opens Bluetooth pairing by itself when it starts. A short press does not open it if the unit is waiting for you to authorize a remote session or if PassThru is armed or waiting to pair with a PC: in those cases the press is for them.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Short press (under 1 s) | Opens Bluetooth pairing |
| 2 to 5 seconds | PassThru (on ECO-LITE TOOL only) |
| 6 seconds | Wi-Fi setup mode, with the unit's DiaglanaOBD- network |
| 20 seconds | Forgets every saved network |
3. Find the unit
- Press "Find nearby units".
- Choose your unit in the list. Its name is DiaglanaOBD- followed by the last 4 digits of the identifier on the label (on ECO-LITE TOOL, ECO-TOOL- followed by those digits). Next to the name you see "Very close" or "A bit far": if it is far, move your phone closer.
4. Confirm it is your unit
- Type the setup code on the label (12 letters and digits, without 0, O, 1 or I; the same one as for the unit's Wi-Fi network) or press "Scan the label" and point the camera at its "Wi-Fi" QR. If the owner changed the code on the platform, use the new one.
- The app shows the model, identifier, version and vehicle battery. Check that it is the unit on the label.
Tip: The code never travels over the air: the unit only stores a verifier and the connection is encrypted (AES-256). After 5 wrong codes the unit closes pairing; press its button again to start over.
5. Choose the Wi-Fi
- Choose your network among the ones the unit sees (with "Good signal" or "Weak signal") or press "Another network (hidden or not listed)" and type its name.
- Type the password and press "Connect the unit".
- The unit tests the connection, address, Internet, time and platform. It can take up to a minute.
Only 2.4 GHz networks work. As in setup mode, the unit stores up to 5 networks.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The password is not correct | Check it (it is case-sensitive) and try again |
| The unit cannot see that network | It may be 5 GHz or far from the router: choose the 2.4 GHz network or move the unit closer |
| The router gives it no address | Restart the router or check whether it filters devices |
| No Internet access or a sign-in page | Choose another network: hotel or café networks with a sign-in page do not work |
| The network blocks the time (port 123) | Ask whoever manages the network to allow it |
| It cannot reach the platform (port 443) | Ask whoever manages the network to allow traffic on that port |
| Could not connect | Try again or choose another network |
6. Add it to your account and finish
- While signed in, press "Add to my account". If the unit has its activation code stored (16 letters and digits), it appears already filled in; if not, type the one on the label. You may be asked for two-step verification.
- Press "Finish". The unit turns Bluetooth off, restarts and connects by itself. The light turns green when it is online.
If you are not signed in, the Wi-Fi is saved anyway and you can add the unit later with its activation code (guide "Adding a unit to your account").
| If you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The connection to the unit was lost | Move your phone closer and try again; if the light no longer blinks purple, press the button once |
| The unit needs an update | Use its Wi-Fi network: hold the button for 6 seconds |
| We did not find any unit | Check that the light blinks purple (if not, press the button once) and move your phone closer |
Tip: Bluetooth pairing is new. If something does not work, use the unit's Wi-Fi network: hold the button for 6 seconds.
