Your tool and programming

Which diagnostic tool can I use remotely with ECO-LITE TOOL?

ECO-LITE TOOL gives you a standard female OBD port (SAE J1962) on your desk that behaves like the remote car's, so you plug in your diagnostic or programming tool as if it were connected to the car. For PC programs it acts as an SAE J2534, D-PDU (ISO 22900-2) and RP1210 PassThru interface. Whether a given program or tool works depends on it: ask us before you buy.

Which tools plug into the OBD port?

Those that plug into a vehicle's diagnostic port: multi-brand scan tools, OEM tools or OBD reprogramming tools. ECO-LITE TOOL reproduces the remote car's buses (CAN and CAN FD, DoIP, K-Line and SW-CAN) and supplies the vehicle's voltage on pin 16, from 5 to 24 V and up to 3 A, to power your tool.

Your tool still needs its licenses and the manufacturer's access: Diaglana neither includes nor replaces them.

What about PC programs with J2534, D-PDU or RP1210?

ECO-LITE TOOL is an SAE J2534-1 (API 05.00) and J2534-2, D-PDU API and TMC RP1210 interface, over USB or the network, only with a PC paired with the device's button and over an encrypted connection. It works on 32- and 64-bit Windows, with J2534 and D-PDU libraries for Linux and macOS.

J2534 is used mostly by carmakers' programs, D-PDU by modular diagnostic systems and RP1210 by heavy-duty software. In a remote session, the program only sees what the session allows: the bus, the protocol and the speed the driver authorized.

What doesn't work remotely?

J1850, SCI and programming voltage are not available through a remote session. Nor does it bypass the manufacturer's security: protected access, such as seed & key or gateways that require authentication, still needs the authorized software.

Each program has its own requirements and it has not been tested with every one yet: PassThru mode is tested on a simulator and validation with vehicles is under way.

How do I check my case before buying?

Look at the compatibility page, which shows what each device has and what each operation needs (anything not yet documented says “to be confirmed”), and write to us with the name and version of your tool or program.

Keep in mind that ECO-LITE TOOL is in pre-production: remote sessions will open once the remote connection service is in production.

The devices are in pre-production or presale: figures may be adjusted after validating the first units. Whether a given tool, program or make works depends on that tool, program or make.

The devices to do it

ECO-LITE TOOL puts the remote car's OBD port on your desk and acts as a PassThru interface for your PC. It runs on a 65 W USB-C charger (100 W for 24 V), not included.

ECO-LITE TOOL · Presale price: €199 · US$199. No subscription.

Presale: no stock and no delivery date yet. Reserve your unit in the shop.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to switch tools?

No. You plug your diagnostic or programming tool into the female OBD port of ECO-LITE TOOL, as if it were the car's.

Does ECO-LITE work as a J2534 interface?

Yes, in a basic mode: over the shop's Wi-Fi, your PC uses it as an SAE J2534 (API 05.00) interface with 2 logical channels. The full interface, with J2534, D-PDU and RP1210, is that of ECO-LITE TOOL.

Does it work with my make's software?

It depends on that software: each program has its own requirements and licenses. Ask us with its name and version before you buy.
