Getting started with remote work
What connection does remote diagnostics need?
In the car, a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with WPA2 or WPA3 Personal (or open) that lets TCP 443 out to the platform and UDP 123 for the time; the driver's phone hotspot works. At the shop, a stable internet connection: a normal one is enough to read codes, but flashing depends on the connection at both ends.

Which network does ECO-LITE need?
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi: the device does not see 5 GHz-only networks. WPA2 or WPA3 Personal security; it also accepts open and hidden networks, if you type the exact name. It stores up to 5 networks, so it can know the customer's home, their workplace and their phone.
During setup, the device checks that it can reach the platform before saving the network and, if something fails, tells you what.
Which networks don't work?
Those with a sign-in page, like hotels and coffee shops, and WPA-Enterprise networks with a username and password. If the network filters by MAC address, the device's setup page shows its MAC so you can add it to the router.
If the car is parked where there is no Wi-Fi, the driver's phone can act as a hotspot when a session is needed. ECO-LITE has no cellular data.
What latency or speed is needed?
There is no single figure: it depends on the job. The platform lets each organization set, per access type (read-only, routines and tests, writing or programming), the minimum connection conditions for the devices: round-trip time, its variation, losses and minimum speed, plus the vehicle's battery and ignition. If they are not met, the session does not open and tells you what is missing.
Reading trouble codes asks little of the connection; a long flash is what suffers most from an unstable one.
What happens if the connection drops?
The device keeps the session state for at least 10 minutes to reconnect without resetting the ECU, as long as the authorization and the consent are still valid.
When programming, the risk is higher: before you start, check the coverage at both ends and put a battery maintainer on the car.
The devices are in pre-production or presale: figures may be adjusted after validating the first units. Whether a given tool, program or make works depends on that tool, program or make.
The devices to do it
ECO-LITE joins Wi-Fi with no app: the customer scans the “Wi-Fi” QR code on the label, picks their network and the device tests the connection before saving it.
ECO-LITE · Presale price: €129 · US$129. No subscription.
Presale: no stock and no delivery date yet. Reserve your unit in the shop.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on 5 GHz networks?
No. ECO-LITE only sees 2.4 GHz networks; most routers and phones offer that band.
Can it use cellular data?
It has no modem: it connects over Wi-Fi. The driver's phone hotspot works when there is no other network.
Which ports does it need?
Outbound only: TCP 443 to the platform and UDP 123 for the time.
