Tracking and Guard: protection and route of your tools
See the anti-theft protection of each tool and, with another person's approval, its position and route.
Where: Tools › Tracking
What you will see: each tool of your organization with its anti-theft protection (Guard), whether it is observed and its connectivity: online, degraded or offline. This is a read-only view; arming, disarming, locking or immobilizing stay closed until the firmware and the safety validation allow them.
1. Seeing the position and the route
- Choose the tool and the "Route period": last hour, last 24 hours or last 7 days.
- Press "Request read" and confirm your identity with your passkey.
- Another person with approval permission approves it in Data & approvals › Location reads.
- Once approved, you see the points of the route with their accuracy and speed. The approved read is valid for one minute; seeing more points needs another authorization.
A tool can only be queried while its location consent is in force: every query checks it. The coordinates are only shown on that screen.
2. Acknowledge or close alerts: geofence alerts here and telemetry alerts in Tool data, also in the app.
- Each alert shows its state: "New", "Acknowledged" or "Closed", with who and when.
- Press "Acknowledge" to say you have seen it; you can add a note.
- Press "Close" and pick the reason: resolved, false alarm, duplicate, no action needed or other reason. The note is optional.
- If it needs another look, press "Reopen" and it goes back to "New".
Whoever manages the organization's notices can do this; everyone else sees the state. No second factor is asked and every step goes into the audit log.
Tip: Geofences and alerts need their own authorization per tool and the platform does not open them yet. The unit's holder can withdraw the location consent in "Privacy and your data".
